Rebekah Rentzel

I’m Rebekah, and I teach both Theatre and Critical Ethnic Studies at OWL. I studied theatre at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where I did not learn how to surf but did ride a longboard to class. I've lived in California, London and Portland, Maine, but finally settled in Minneapolis. I love the down-to-earth, creative arts scene of the Midwest. Locally, I've work with Mixed Blood Theater, Teatro del Pueblo, the Playwright's Center, Bedlam Theater, New Native Theatre, Barebones Halloween Extravaganza, and ran a feminist theatre company called Raw Sugar. I've worked at OWL for nine years, and I really enjoy how we empower students to explore their own creative ideas.
