All students are invited to join OWL’s Ultimate Frisbee Teams, Manatee! The teams are open to all experience levels and are dedicated to creating a welcoming environment while having fun, working hard and learning the spirit of the game. More detailed information can be found at

High School Girls’ Team: Also known as the “Wo-Manatee,” this high school team plays against other area high schools in spring league and at various tournaments in the Twin Cities.

Girls’ Team Schedule:
• Games: Tuesdays at 6 PM, April 11th - May 23rd. Home games at the Humboldt Stadium. Away games at various schools across Twin Cities.
• Practices: Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Harriet Island Regional Park.

• Tournaments: Matoska Classic on April 29-30 at White Bear Lake High School (bid pending)

State Tournament on June 3-4 at the National Sports Center in Blaine

• Cost: High School Players pay $75 for League and Tournament Fees. Checks payable to: OWL PTO.

Scholarships Available: Talk to Tim. Each player must also register with USA Ultimate online for $34.50.

High School Boys’ Team: The boys’ high school team plays against other area high schools in spring league and at various tournaments in the Twin Cities.

Boys’ Team Schedule:
• Games: Thursdays at 6 PM, April 13th - May 25th. Home games at the Humboldt Stadium. Away games at various schools across Twin Cities.
• Practices: Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Harriet Island Regional Park.

• Tournaments: Hopkins Hustle on May 13-14 at the National Sports Center in Blaine
State Tournament on June 3-4 at the National Sports Center in Blaine

• Cost: High School Players pay $75 for League and Tournament Fees. Checks payable to OWL PTO.

Scholarships Available: Talk to Tim. Each player must also register with USA Ultimate online for $34.50.

Middle School Teams (coed): Our middle school teams will consist of all 6th – 8th-grade players. Girls and Boys play together on 2 OWL teams competing in the middle school league and state tournament.

Middle School Team Schedule:

Games: Doubleheaders on Sunday afternoons (April 23, April 30, May 7) at West Minnehaha Recreation Center. Specific game times will be announced soon.
Practices: Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Harriet Island Regional Park. ● Tournaments: State Tournament on May 20-21 at West Minnehaha Recreation Center
Cost: Middle School Players pay $110 for league fees, tournament fees, coaches stipends, light and dark jerseys and a disc. This fee is paid online to Minnesota Ultimate when registering online at minnesotaultimate.org SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE at the time of registration online.
Each player must also register with USA Ultimate (usaultimate.org) one time event fee $11.50. Wait for further instructions from coaches to pay this fee.

How to sign up for the High School Ultimate Frisbee Teams —Please Read Carefully:

By March 20th, please:
1. Complete and return the Intent to Participate form and Medical Authorization Form (available at www.owlultimate.com and available from Tim at school).
2. Pay $75 for league and tournament fees (if check, make payable to OWL PTO)

3. Register as part of our team on Minnesota Ultimate’s website and become a member of USA Ultimate ($34.50 fee). Link: http://www.minnesotaultimate.org/p/individual-player-registration

4. Fill out an online survey for communication from coaches. Available here and on our website at https://owlultimate.com/player-sign-up/

How to sign up for the Middle School Ultimate Frisbee Teams —Please Read Carefully:

By March 20th, please:
1. Complete and return the Intent to Participate form and Medical Authorization Form (available at www.owlultimate.com and copies available from Tim at school).
2. Register online and pay $110 to Minnesota Ultimate (MNYU league fee)

All Player Requirements:

• Bring athletic shoes, shorts/pants and a white and dark jersey to each practice. Check weather and bring appropriate layers for colder days.
• Please bring a water bottle to every practice. The drinking fountain at Harriet Island is not turned on until May! Hydration is key!!!

• Provide own transportation – must be picked up at 6:00 PM from practice field on practice days and at the end of games.
• Consistent Attendance – we only have two practices a week. You need to COMMIT to coming to every practice for the team to be its best.
