Choir
Choir at OWL is a year-long performance class for students grades 7-12 that enjoy singing a variety of quality choral literature. All choirs perform at a winter and spring concert. The four choir classes offered include:
Middle School Choir: Students in seventh and eighth grade who want to learn to sing in a large group start out in Middle School Choir. Students will learn basic vocal techniques and a variety of beginner level songs throughout the year in different styles.
Varsity Choir: High school students new to choir will likely begin in Varsity Choir, which builds fundamental musical skills such as blending within a group, music theory, and sight reading.
Concert Choir: Concert Choir requires an audition to join, and is an intermediate to hard level course in which students learn more complex styles and blending, integrating more advanced levels of analysis, rehearsal, and performance.
Jazz Choir: Jazz Choir is the highest level of choir class offered at OWL, with up to sixteen members who must audition for their roles. Students incorporate advanced rhythm techniques and blend to create high quality sound and polished performance.
