Profesora: Beatriz DeSantiago-Fjelstad
Trabajo: I have been working at Open school since November 2006 and I work simultaneously
at the University of St
Thomas and Metropolitan
State University.
I have been teaching Spanish for more than fifteen years. I have worked
in MPS and for private and public corporations. I have taught courses on
Diversity to several public and private organizations. Familia: I am a mother of two teenagers attending SPPS and my husband
was born and raised in Minnesota.
I have nine brothers and sisters, I am the youngest of ten children.
Most of my family live in Mexico. I love to visit them during
Christmas season.
Origen: I am
originally from Torreón, Coahuila (Northern) Mexico. I moved to Minnesota in 1991.
Educación: I
earned a Bachelor degree in Industrial Relations from the University of
Coahuila in México, a Master in Business Administration from the Universidad de
Nuevo Leon in México and a Master in Education form the University of St Thomas
in St Paul, MN.
Affiliations: I
am president of Lectores sin Fronteras a non profit organization that promotes reading in small communities in Mexico.
Distracciones: I enjoy reading, dancing, traveling volunteering in my church and working-out.
I enjoy teaching Spanish and sharing my culture with young and adult learners.
