| More about Jennifer | | | | Bouldering (a type of Rock Climbing) in Alabama | This is my first year at Open School. I am very excited to be teaching Algebra 1, Geometry and Pre-Calculus.
I am a born and raised Minnesotan, growing up on the west side of Minneapolis in Hopkins. I am currently living in the house I grew up in. My life growing up included participating in a youth ballet company, traveling, and tons of outdoor adventures.
I attended Alma College in Alma, Michigan. There I received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Dance. In college I was highly involved the Alma College Dance Company, Rock Climbing Club, and Student Life.
Currently, I am attending Hamline University to obtain my Master of Arts in Teaching. I became a teacher because I enjoy seeing the go on in people's minds when the get something for the first time.
My family is spread out across the United States right now. I take every chance I can to visit them. My mom is living in Fargo, my dad lives in Minneapolis, and my sister attends school in Forrest Grove, Oregon. My family keeps close tabs on each other and often reunite at my cabin on the St. Croix River.
In my spare time, I teach ballet, rock climb, kayak, canoe, hike, camp, and do pixel puzzles. I also head up every chance I can get to my cabin to work on projects such as building road, making cutting boards, and shingling cabins with my grandpa.
