Vote on a new name for our school
11/1/2009 9:21 PM

Open School has started the process of becoming an Expeditionary Learning school.  In light of this, students, staff, parents and alums are invited to vote on a new name for the school.  See below for the public notice:

PUBLIC NOTICE of Open School Name Change Vote:

Voting will take place to choose between two new school name options during parent-teacher conferences at St. Paul Open School on November 11, 12, and 13. All school community members (current students, alumni, parents past and present, staff past and present and anyone else in the community) are invited to vote at the main office (90 Western Avenue South) between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 7:30 AM and 7:00 PM on Thursday, Nov. 12, and between 7:30 and 4:00 on Friday, Nov. 13. The name receiving the majority vote will be forwarded to the district administration and school board immediately with a request for acceptance as per district policy with the expectation that it will replace the old name in the upcoming year.

Two names selected by Open School Site Council after a period of name change proposal input in light of our restructuring plan to become an Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound program are the following:

1.    Global Voyagers Community
2.    Open World Learning Community

Voting takes place at Open School November 11 through 13.
